Our Beginning
During the fall and winter months of 1948, an alert
and enterprising civic-minded citizen, Robert Diller,
realized the need of a service club in our community
and proceeded to arouse the interest of other
successful business men in the Libertytown and
Unionville area.
After several meetings, this small group of men
decided to organize the Libertytown-Unionville Lions
Club. On May 16, 1949, in St. Peter’s Catholic
Church Hall, the Libertytown-Unionville Club was
chartered with 26 charter members. The club was
sponsored by the Union Bridge Lions Club with
President Russell Marsh, the Union Bridge members
and District Governor Fishpaw in attendance. Over
the years we have remained close to our Sponsoring
Club, having a joint meeting at least once a year.

Our Meetings
We meet on the 1st
and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at the Methodist
Church in the center of Libertytown promptly at 7:00
PM.
Most
of our meetings follow the same format. We
start with a short opening ceremony which is
followed by a home cooked meal prepared by the
ladies of the Methodist Church. Dinner is
followed by entertainment, programs by visiting
guests and a business meeting.
