The
Annual Benefit Breakfast was held on March 2, 2008 at the
Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department Fire Hall from 7 AM until
12 Noon. The Libertytown
Unionville Lions Club has served this benefit breakfast at the
Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall for at least
35 years. It has been the policy of the club over the years to
dedicate this breakfast to a specific need in our community and
give all proceeds from this event to that person or cause.
This year
the club voted to hold this breakfast for the benefit of the
children in our community. The staff at Liberty Elementary made
us aware that the playground equipment is in serious need of
replacement or repair and that a special fund (Libertytown
Playground Fund) had been set up to solve this problem; all
proceeds from this breakfast were used for that purpose and on
March 6, a check for $2,300 was presented to school
representatives. Click

presentation.
