WE SERVE

 

The Libertytown Unionville Lions Club is proud to serve those in our  community and people throughout the world.  Presented below is a partial summary of recipients of our service  activities over the past 60 years
 

 

  • Scholarships - last year we awarded two $1000 scholarships - since 1964   $22,814 in scholarships have been awarded by the Club

  • The Libertytown Recreation Council - Currently sponsoring two baseball teams

  • We maintain an inventory of medical equipment for loan to local citizens - the inventory includes hospital beds, walkers, canes, commodes and wheelchairs

  • Liberty Elementary School - Playground Fund and the Media Center

  • The Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) - a fund from which grants are made to Lions Clubs for needs in their community beyond their ability to support

  • Boy Scout Troop 1062 located in Libertytown

  • We pay Ophthalmologists for services rendered to citizens who need assistance to pay

  • Frederick County Hospice

  • Lions Leader Dog Program

  • The Libertytown Food Bank

  • We deliver Poinsettias to local sick and elderly at Christmas - between 40 to 50 each year

  • CASS Program at Linganore High School

  • Vision Screening for Pre-School Children

  • The Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department

  • We pay Medical, Dental and Hospital costs as well as prescription glasses costs for local citizens unable to pay
